Your pooch is simply going to love these icy treats, especially during those hot summer days. It takes only a few minutes to whip up these puppy ice pops, so let’s get started.

All of these can be made in an array of containers.

For bigger dogs, use a popsicle mold or little Tupperware containers, but for the smaller breeds make sure you use an ice cube tray, for it is just perfect for making small-sized treats.

Cheese Pop

Mix together equal parts cottage cheese, a bit of water, and (if you want to spice it up a bit) some peanut butter or leftover chicken, beef or fish chunks. If you are leaning toward the sweet side, blend in some blueberries, strawberries or watermelon.

Frozen Smoothies

You will definitely have to take out the blender for this one. Ingredients: cup plain, natural yogurt, 1 ripe banana, 2 cups of unsweetened juice and a handful of blueberries. Blend them until you get a homogenous mass. You can also try: peach, watermelon, strawberry, raspberry or watermelon.

Pour the mass into molds or containers, freeze it, and voila – the smoothie will be so tempting you end up eating it yourself.

Pumpkin Pops

This one is an easy, low calorie ice pop. Blend some canned, unsweetened pumpkin with plain, low fat yogurt and a bit of water. Then freeze for a cool but low cal dog treat.

More to come.
