Also known as The Griffon Bruxellois, is cute breed of toy dog named after their city of origin – Brussels, Belgium. They are known to be extremely intelligent and easy to train.

Origin

Back in 19th century Belgium, coachmen were quite fond of their little Griffons d’Ecurie, wiry coated stable dogs which were rather alert and smart.

They decided to breed their Griffons with imported toy dogs, Pug and King Charles Spaniel.

These breeds brought about the current breed type, alongside the short black coat markings, trademark of today’s Brussels Griffon.

Description

These small pooches grow up to 8 inches and weight around 11 pounds, both male and female. Though small, they are quite strong and frisky, intelligent and nimble. They come in black, red, beige, blue, brown, and black & tan combo.
