Easy And Delicious: Crockpot Chicken & Brown Rice

September 23, 2019

The best way to mix it up a little bit when it comes to your dog’s food is to cook for him yourself.

Introduce a home-cooked meal for your dog on a weekly basis as it will be an excellent change in his diet.

Here we have a delicious and easy to make chicken meat recipe your canine friend will love.

  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 2 boneless chicken breasts (with or without skin)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 lb. green beans, broken into segments
  • 1 medium sweet potato, raw, cut into medium-sized chunks (leave skin on)
  • 3 carrots, sliced into about 1″ thick rounds

Put all ingredients into the crockpot in the order given above in the ingredients section. Make sure you don’t mix the ingredients, but layer them instead.

Cook on low for about 8 hours. When done, stir and break up the chicken meat into small pieces (it will all be quite soft, so you won’t have to chop it with a knife).

Let cool and serve. Unused portions can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.

Also, substitutions are allowed should your pooch prefers some other meat or veggies. For instance, try broccoli florets, zucchini, spinach or any of several types of squash, or you can also substitute chicken for beef cubes, turkey or lamb. Make sure you use organic ingredients if possible.
