Some dogs are mere roommate-material. They are like most cats – like to be around because of food, shelter and company.

Others, however, the huge bulk of their species, are sophisticated, state of the art love-machines.

You probably already know which group your dog belongs to, but let’s take a closer look at the 3 main signs your pooch loves you.

A Warm Welcome

If your dog greets you at the door every time you come back from work, you have a serious case of OTLD (Over the Top Love Disorder). This condition, of course, doesn’t exist, we just made it up, but you get the point.

Jokes aside, if your pooch does go super-crazy every time he sees you, it can be a sign of separation anxiety.

The I love You Look

If your dog gazes at you with those big round eyes and soft look, he loves you to the bone. Sure, they adore us since we give them food, take to play-dates and walks, but a new study conducted by Miho Nagasawa of Azabu University in Japan, reveals that dogs experience a spike in oxytocin, or the “love hormone”, every time they look at you.

Love is in the air, that’s for sure.

Closeness

If your dog simply has to be in your vicinity, he sees you as the pack leader and you are definitely number 1 figure in his life. Sometimes, just being in the same room is enough for him.

On the other hand, if he is constantly trying to cuddle with you, that means he really misses you, and you probably work too much. A change is due, perhaps.
