After the weaning period is over, dogs need a balanced and consistent diet comprised of high-quality nutritious foods made specifically for younger dogs.

These foods are designed to meet all the needs your pup has and they are usually packed with proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals.

However, what many dog owners don’t know is that they should be rather careful when it comes to which treats they should give to their four-legged furry friend.

Safety First

It is crucial to know that, contrary to popular belief, young dogs should not get their little paws on raw bones.

Bones are actually something to avoid when giving him treats since they can be lodged in your pup’s throat or in his digestive system.

According to dailypuppy.com, other common treats to avoid include:

  • Avocado
  • Chocolate
  • Grapes
  • Raisins
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Citrus fruit
  • Candy and sweets
  • Dairy products
  • Uncooked meats

Overfeeding a pup is also a big no-no, especially when it comes to larger-breeds as it can result in rapid growth, obesity and skeletal issues.

I have had experience in the past with giving my dog dairy( Just milk) and she has been fine. Other than the fact your dog may have to go to the bathroom more often and may get stomach aches and throw up but otherwise than that your dog will be fine just dont give them dairy all the time.
