Have you ever wondered what dogs actually do when you leave for work in the morning? Many tech enthusiasts are installing their GoPro cameras to capture the moments and actually see what the pooch is up to when there is nobody around.

Like their owners, dogs also have their daily routines that they stick to, especially when they are alone.

Most of the time they’ll sleep or just stare out the window, but they’ll also eat, drink water and sleep on the couch or another place that’s off limits.

In many cases, the dog will sleep right next to the door, which seems sad when you come back from work, but keep in mind your dog might also be doing that to guard the house. They will probably play a little bit or find a way to amuse themselves even though they prefer to do that when you come back home.

You are encouraged to leave toys for the dog to play with and even leave some music on so the dog doesn’t feel lonely.

Nothing can replace you, obviously, but even people leave their TV on even if they are not watching it just for the noise.

If at all possible, have your neighbors check on the dog, make sure it’s got food and water until you come back from work. If you have a neighbor who is a dog person and has a schedule different from yours, they might even be interested in walking your dog around the block so the pooch can do its business and have contact with someone.
